Tribute concert to raise cash

A CITY church is hosting a tribute concert to raise funds for a charitable cause.

A CITY church is hosting a tribute concert to raise funds for a charitable cause.St Mark’s Church will present an evening of Elvis Gospel tonight at 7.30pm.

It will be performed by tribute artist Nick Pacey and friends Yvonne Yates, Marlene Clarke and Angela Virden.

The concert is aimed at raising funds for the charity Oliver’s Army and St Mark’s Church, in Lincoln Road.

Oliver Liley was a show jumper who successfully represented England on three occasions gaining golds and silver riding his favourite pony Get Ready Freddie.

He was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a terminal, but little known illness with no cure, and died in July last year, aged 14. Oliver’s Army was launched in his memory.

Tickets for the concert cost 7 and will be available at the door.
