Thief steals postman's letters from his bag

POLICE are searching for a thief who snatched a handful of letters from a postman's bag.

POLICE are searching for a thief who snatched a handful of letters from a postman's bag.The thief struck after spotting a postman’s bike left leaning against a wall in Mandeville, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough.

A police spokesman said the postman was some distance away from the bike, but saw the thief take a handful of letters from his bag.

The incident happened at about 10.30am on Saturday, October 18.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “The security and safety of mail is of prime importance to us, and we would urge anyone with information to contact the police.

He added: “Any customers who have concerns about mail that maybe missing should contact customer services on 08457 740 740.”

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said officers were investigating the incident.”
