A CHANCE to view the ambitious plans for a city college's new 75 million flagship further education centre is on the cards.People are being invited to the viewing by Peterborough Regional College so they can see for themselves how the state-of-the-art development will overhaul skills training in the city.

The new college, to open in 2012 on the Park Crescent campus, will provide cutting-edge education and training facilities for up to 20,000 students per year – an increase of 5,000.

Part funded by the Learning and Skills Council, it will be packed with the latest industry-standard equipment and resources, including construction and engineering workshops, hair salons and complementary therapy spa.

It will also feature a brand new restaurant, theatre and performance studios, a media centre with recording and photography studios, sports and fitness studios and the latest IT technology.

The schools and college's inspection body, Ofsted, recently praised PRC for its construction courses, highlighting the strong links with industry, excellent facilities and equipment on offer and praising the teaching staff for high achievement rates and providing the very best opportunities for students to succeed.

Residents will be able to view the latest plans at a public exhibition taking place on Wednesday, March 19 between 10am and 8pm and Thursday, March 20 between 10am and 4pm.
