Stewart Jackson has refused to answer some questions posed by The Evening Telegraph about his involvement in the Parliamentary expenses row, claiming he has "nothing further to say" on the issue. The ET planned to quiz the Peterborough MP on matters such as whether he planned to pay back any more of the money he claimed to maintain his Peterborough home, and whether the controversy might force him to resign as the city's representative in Parliament.
But while he admitted having spoken to Conservative leader David Cameron personally this week, he would not respond to any direct questions concerning the expenses storm. He said: "I'm not answering the questions. There is no point continuing to ask me about this. David Cameron's policy is that the expenses claims will be looked at by a scrutiny committee and I have nothing further to add to that.

"I'm not getting into a situation where I say I'm going to do this or I'm not going to do that. I have admitted an error of judgement, I have apologised and there the matter rests."
Mr Jackson said he had met his party leader to discuss the issue but had not spoken specifically about his case. He has also been in discussions with Tory chief whip Patrick McLoughlin.
"I have already stated that I fully agree with David Cameron's policy and I'm happy to debate the issue with my constituents if they wish to contact me directly," he said.
