Sam hopes to stick out TV challenge

A PINT-SIZED drummer from Wisbech will step into the limelight next month when he appears on a prestigious new television programme.

A PINT-SIZED drummer from Wisbech will step into the limelight next month when he appears on a prestigious new television programme.Talented musician Sam Horvath – a Year 7 pupil at Wisbech Grammar School– is all set for his chance at stardom having been cast in CBBC series Clash.

Sam had to showcase his talent and go through an audition before getting down to the final 10 and became a part of Team Nihal.

Starting on Tuesday, July 7, on BBC1 at 4.35pm, viewers will be able to see how the 12-year-old copes as he has his musical skills tested to the limit over the six weeks of the series.

Clash sees Radio 1 DJs Bobby Friction and Nihal leading two teams of musically-talented children from across the UK in a tough challenge to “mash up” well-known classical pieces into pop tracks.

The series was filmed in April this year, with Sam meeting a host of celebrities from the world of music, including The Saturdays, The Noisettes, Lesley Garrett, Stomp, Pixie Lott, Katherine Jenkins and Tinchy Stryder.
