Rotarians have a rail treat on trip

CITY Rotarians crossed the Channel to Peterborough's twin town to mark 50 years of friendship.

CITY Rotarians crossed the Channel to Peterborough's twin town to mark 50 years of friendship. The Rotary Club of Peterborough was also twinned with its French counterpart half a century ago, just as the cities did. And each year, the clubs take turns to visit each other. In this special anniversary year it was Peterborough’s turn to visit Bourges.

Among the highlights for the Rotarians were the Blue Light Walk around the centre of Bourges, a trip to a castle being built in a quarry in woodland using only 13th century techniques, and a ride in an early TGV fast train protorype.

At the final official dinner in the town hall the Peterborough club presented their Bourges colleagues with a plaque.
