PUPILS at a city primary school have been celebrating the start of spring by raising money for charity.Children at West Town Primary in the city centre took part in Daffodil Day to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
All the children donated money, and the school was awash with colour as everyone wore a piece of yellow clothing.
Since November, the children have also been looking after their own daffodils, and on Friday were given the chance to win prizes for the best designed pot.
Teacher Rachel McGoldrick said: ”Everyone has really enjoyed looking after the flowers over the past few months, and it was great to see them do so well.
“All the family have been involved in watering and feeding the plants, with parents reminding children – and children reminding parents – to look after them.”
The 300 pupils at school managed to raise a total of 125 for the charity with their activities.
