A TALENTED group of sixth form pupils have raced passed "Go" and collected more than 200 after selling more than 1,000 editions of their version of the classic board game Monopoly.Lower sixth form pupils at Oundle School began work on Oundle Monopoly more than a year ago and they have since had a tremendous response from all over the world.

The group of eight pupils took delivery of the boards last week, before holding a launch night where more than 400 of the 1,150 pre-ordered boards were handed out. Yet more of the special boards are being readied for posting to places such as Australia, America, Malaysia and St Lucia.

A further 40 of the remaining 60 boards were snapped up on the night, with the money from the pupil-led project, which is part of the school’s Oundle Charity Ventures, going to charity.

Managing director of Oundle Monopoly Jacob Dillarstone (17) said: “Oundle Monopoly has taken both the town and the school by storm, and the interest received is far beyond what any of us had hoped for.”

Headmaster Charles Bush said: “This is a remarkable achievement for a talented group of pupils whose entrepreneurial and recession-beating venture has reaped wonderful rewards for charity.”
