Presentation for late bishop's widow

PETERBOROUGH City Council has shown its appreciation to the late Bishop of Peterborough, the Rt Rev Ian Cundy, with a presentation of thanks to his widow.

PETERBOROUGH City Council has shown its appreciation to the late Bishop of Peterborough, the Rt Rev Ian Cundy, with a presentation of thanks to his widow.Jo Cundy, the wife of the Bishop Ian, who died of cancer in May, was presented with a certificate and a bright bouquet of flowers by council chief executive Gillian Beasley.

The presentation was made following a Duke of Edinburgh Award presentation event in the Bishop’s Palace Gardens.

Mrs Beasley said: “I wanted to thank Jo for her and Bishop Ian’s support and kindness in allowing us to use the Palace Gardens, which are a fantastic backdrop to this important event.”

Mrs Cundy said: “It brought back many happy memories for me, including last year, when my husband presented our daughter, Elizabeth, with her gold award.”
