Police hunt raiders after burglary spate

POLICE are today searching for burglars who have carried out a spate of break-ins around Market Deeping and Deeping St James.

POLICE are today searching for burglars who have carried out a spate of break-ins around Market Deeping and Deeping St James. There have been eight burglaries in the Market Deeping and Deeping St James areas since the end of September.

Detectives say that in most cases, intruders got in through the back door or rear windows left unlocked by householders.

A range of property including handbags, wallets containing cash and bank cards, keys, laptops, sat navs, digital cameras, mobile phones, mp3 players and mountain bikes have all been stolen.

Police Community Support Officer Karen Dobson said: “This time of year can be extremely lucrative for thieves, and we advise keeping Christmas gifts well out of sight.

“All of the items that have been taken during these burglaries are pretty easy to conceal and sell on.

“We would urge householders that before settling down for the night, make sure all property is out of sight and secure.

“Take wallets, handbags and mobile phones with you to bed.”

nAnyone who wants advice on protecting their property can call PCSO Karen Dobson on 07944 776990.
