COMMUTERS and students travelling from Huntingdon to Cambridge could be hit by plans to axe a popular bus service. The X14 Huntingdon to Cambridge Science Park service is one of nine routes on a hit list drawn up by Cambridgeshire County Council in a bid to save 300,000.
The Stagecoach-run service operates weekdays from Hinchingbrooke Hospital to Cambridge Science Park, stopping at Huntingdon, St Ives, Fenstanton and Cambridge Regional College.
The council said the route was under-used, with an average of just six passengers on the X14 service.
A six-week consultation period began on August 16 and runs until September 26.
A final decision on the future of the services will be made in November, with the changes coming into effect in January next year.
