MASKED raiders burgled elderly victims in a series of incidents being investigated by detectives on Sunday, November 1.
MASKED raiders burgled elderly victims in a series of incidents being investigated by detectives on Sunday, November 1.The incidents were all in Fenland and police believe the same people may be responsible.
The most recent happened just after 8pm on Sunday, at the home of a 72-year-old man in Station Road, Murrow.
He was confronted in his bungalow by two men who wore dark clothing and white masks and demanded money.
The men are believed to have broken in through a bedroom window, before pushing him to the ground and taking property from the house.
Another happened in Leverington Road, Wisbech, between 7.30pm and 8pm on Friday, October 30, at the home of a 97-year-old man. A third happened in Stags Holt, near March, at about 9.30pm on Wednesday, October 28, at the home of an 82-year-old man.
Three men forced their way in through a rear door of the bungalow. Two of the men claimed to be police officers and were brandishing metal bars. They wore black balaclavas and black clothing.
Detective Inspector Mike Branston said: "These are despicable crimes committed against elderly and vulnerable people."
