A QUEENSGATE shop surprised customers by dressing as fox to raise awareness for the store's campaign for more enforcement of the fox hunting ban.Cosmetics shop Lush organised the event in stores nationwide to highlight its belief that fox hunts are being conducted illegally, contravening conditions of a ban on hunting with dogs, imposed four years ago.
The chain is campaigning for a bigger police crack-down and is working in co-operation with the Hunt Saboteurs Association.
Emily Deboo (19), a part-time employee at the Queensgate Lush shop, wore the fox costume at work yesterday.
Emily said: “I volunteered to dress up, because I love foxes and think it’s important.
“A lot of people gave me positive feedback about the costume – I think the cause has a lot of support here in Peterborough.”
As well as sending fox costumes to shops, Lush is urging customers to sign postcards to be sent to local police stations to highlight their message for more enforcement.
They have also released a limited edition Fabulous Mrs Fox soap bar, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the Hunt Saboteurs Association.
