Club presidents hold the position for 12 months.Marcus, seen here sharing a joke with senior vice president Maureen McKenna, said among the other local good causes Rotary supports he especially wishes to focus on cancer care. Peterborough’s Cancer Care Centre, at Edith Cavell Hospital, is named after his father Robert Horrell BEM (British Empire Medal) for his generous work in supporting it.

Marcus’s father also founded Peterborough’s Firework Fiesta, and Rotary is already well into planning this year’s city Guy Fawkes spectacular.

“And our charity projects, large or small, are always worthwhile.”
