SOME of the city's most beautiful women competed for the coveted crown of Miss Peterborough during a gittering ceremony full of music and entertainment on Saturday night.Thirteen contestants were vying for the title and the chance to represent the city at the future Miss England event, but in the end, there could only be one winner.

And after a five-hour event at Radius, above The Solstice, in Northminster, it was 22-year-old logistics administrator Milla Molchanova who took home the sash as Miss Peterborough winner.

Milla's victory followed a gruelling competition at the popular venue, with each contestant having to take part in a range of tests, including rounds for evening wear, swim wear and talent.

Organiser Marie Salim was delighted with how the evening turned out, she said: "It has been another fantastic year and much better than last year.

"It's always a joy organising this event, with great girls and we have good support from the city and its businesses, big and small, everyone gives us great support."

The evening was compered by Heart FM DJ and Evening Telegraph columnist, Kev Lawrence, and judged by 10 experts, including current Miss England, Laura Coleman, and singer, Andy Scott-Lee.
