FROM April 1, NHS Direct's Freeview service will move from SkyText to Teletext so more people can access it.The NHS Direct Freeview service will be available across all of Teletext’s digital text services and will “sit” behind ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, Channel 4, E4 and More4, as well as Teletext’s own public service channel, Channel 100.

The content of the re-launched service will also be different with more emphasis on self-care, health at home and practical answers to common health issues.

NHS Direct commercial director Ronnette Lucraft said: “We are pleased to be working with Teletext in the delivery of NHS Direct’s service on digital television and hope that this partnership will allow more people to benefit from NHS Direct information in the comfort of their living room.”

To access the service go to ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, Channel 4, E4, or More4 and select page 700.
