Extra tickets on salefor football derby

EXTRA tickets have been made available for Posh's crunch derby match at Northampton Town this weekend.

EXTRA tickets have been made available for Posh's crunch derby match at Northampton Town this weekend.Posh had sold their entire allocation of 1,200 tickets for the trip to Sixfields on Saturday, but, due to popular demand, another 125 have gone on sale to Peterborough's supporters.

The tickets were released at 9am this morning on a first-come-first- served basis.

Tickets for the match have been even more sought after since Darren Ferguson's men won a nine-goal thriller against Bristol Rovers in front of the Sky TV cameras on Saturday afternoon.

With a heated atmosphere expected between rival sets of fans, police have urged supporters of both clubs to show plenty of respect to each other.

Northamptonshire police say they want the game to be remembered for all the right reasons.

The 3pm kick-off is all-ticket, and Superintendent George Shipman said fans should take simple precautions to ensure an enjoyable and trouble-free derby fixture.

He said: "If you haven't got a ticket for the game, please don't travel, as you won't be able to get in.

"If you have a ticket, please ensure that you take your allocated seat, as stewards will be enforcing that on the day.

"I would urge supporters to behave and respect other supporters who are attending, so that everyone can enjoy what should be a keenly-contested match."

The teams have not met since April 2006, when the Cobblers won a close contest 1-0 at London Road, while Posh won by the same scoreline at Sixfields on New Year's Eve in 2005.

The new tickets are in the Alwyn Hargrave stand, and will cost 21 for adults, 16 for senior citizens and registered disabled, 13 juniors (aged under 16), while accompanied juniors tickets will cost 6.50. Accompanied children under the age of seven will be admitted free.
