IT was a day and time newlyweds Troy and Katie Peters will never forget – after exchanging their vows yesterday at 12:34:56 on 07/08/09.While celebrating their big day with a lavish ceremony at the city's Orton Hall Hotel in Orton Longueville yesterday, the devoted parents-of-two also witnessed a numerical wonder which will only fall once in a lifetime.

Two years ago Katie (26) chose August 7, 2009 (07/08/09) as her special day and one she hoped her husband would be able to remember for anniversaries to come.

But it wasn't until days before the marriage ceremony that the pair discovered their magical day would be full of numerical sparkle when they said "I do" at 12:34:56 07/08/09 (123456789) – which was highlighted in The Evening Telegraph on Thursday and picked up by a host of national newspapers the following day.

The last 123456789 day took place on July 8 in America, because when writing the date, they put their months before the day, but the next 123456789 day won't happen for another 1,000 years on August 7, 3009.

Speaking on his big day, Troy (27), from the Ortons, said: "We didn't expect the 123456789 thing to take off as much as it has.

"We have been contacted by national newspapers including the Sun and the Mirror and others who wanted to take pictures at the wedding.

"And as nice as the offers were, this was our special day and we wanted to keep it that way.

"It all started with a chain text message that was sent to me and neither of us thought anything of it until someone pointed out that it was happening on our wedding day.

"The wedding was perfect."

More than 70 guests joined them for the daytime ceremony and a further 130 friends and family in the evening – but no tabloid photographers.

They had three bridesmaids and their two sons Connor (6) and Louis (4) did them proud as page boys.

The family are now looking forward to a two week honeymoon in Majorca.
