Church to be transformed into an alpine landscape
WESTGATE Church will soon be resembling an Alpine landscape as the annual Festival of Christmas Trees is held.
WESTGATE Church will soon be resembling an Alpine landscape as the annual Festival of Christmas Trees is held.The church, opposite the Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough, will combine the free festival with carol services and refreshments.
Manager for Age Concern and organiser Jane Grant, said: “Already we have local companies, retailers and individuals busily decorating their own trees.
“They will go into the church on December 4 in readiness for the opening.”
Those taking part so far are Buckles Solicitors LLP, Marks & Spencer PLC, Corn Exchange Learning Centre – Peterborough Regional College, IFAC Ltd, Peterborough Environment City Trust, John Lewis PLC, Lady Brassey, John Lucas (Peterborough) Ltd and Age Concern Peterborough
On December, 5 the church will be open from 2.30pm to 5pm, December 6 from 10am to 4pm, and on the following day there will be a carol service at 10.30am, and the festival will be open from 1pm to 3.30pm
The festival is shut on Monday, December 8 but open from December 9 to 13 from 10.30am to 3.30pm, before finishing on December 14, where the final time will be 1pm to 3.30pm.
Additionally on December 10, the Townswomen’s Guild Carol Service will take place at 11.15am
