Christmas card contest

PRIMARY school children are invited to enter a Christmas card competition run by the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service to win some top prizes.

PRIMARY school children are invited to enter a Christmas card competition run by the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service to win some top prizes.Designs should be based on one of the fire service’s safety messages for the festive period, which are:

nMake sure cooking is not left unattended.

nNever take batteries out of smoke alarms to put in presents.

nCheck on older relatives, as they are at greater risk from fire.

nCheck smoke alarms are working.

The competition is open to children aged seven to 11, and three winners will be picked. The winner of the best overall design will also win a trip around their local fire station, plus their school class will get a visit from firefighters.

The closing date for entries is Friday, October 31.
