Broadway Theatre damaged in blaze

MONDAY 7AM: Police have confirmed they are treating the blaze as arson.10am: A blaze on Saturday night has damaged Peterborough's Broadway theatre.

Four fire crews were called to the Broadway Theatre, in Broadway, at about 1.30am on Sunday morning, where they found a fire burning in the basement.

The blaze was brought under control within two hours, but it left the stage and three front rows of seating destroyed.

Police were also called to the theatre after computers and other items were reported stolen. Fire investigation officers will determine the cause of the fire this morning.
