Botolph Green: Walk on water at festival

A MULTITUDE of fun-filled family activities are set to take place when the St Botolph Day Festival kicks into action on Saturday afternoon (13 June).

A MULTITUDE of fun-filled family activities are set to take place when the St Botolph Day Festival kicks into action on Saturday afternoon (13 June).Starting at noon, the third annual event, which takes place on Botolph Green on Saturday and Sunday (14th), off Oundle Road, Peterborough, will be opened by the headteacher of St Botolph's Primary School, Jenny Daniels.

A number of activities will then take place throughout the day, including this year's new attraction, the HydroSphere, which, once inside, gives people the chance to walk on water.

Come the evening time, the entertainment will take a musical feel when the One Eyed Cats take to the stage for people to dance the night away.

Sunday includes a family cycle ride, children's walk, a giant rabbit on show, and activities organised by members of the council's young people's service, who will be in the marquee from 4pm to 7pm.

Orton Longueville councillor Janet Goodwin today urged urging as many people as possible to join in the fun.

"It's always so well attended from people in both the Orton Longueville ward and the Orton with Hampton ward, and people always seem to enjoy it.

"There's a lot of hard work that goes into organising the event and to get the entertainment that's on offer. I think it's a great opportunity for people to get together," said Cllr Goodwin.
