A HAIRDRESSING salon in Lincoln Road was severely damaged after a fire broke out on Friday night (17 October).

A HAIRDRESSING salon in Lincoln Road was severely damaged after a fire broke out on Friday night (17 October).Firefighters from Dogsthorpe and Stanground used breathing apparatus to battle the blaze, which broke out at about 10.30pm at the shop in Lincoln Road.

The fire also caused smoke damage to an upstairs flat, and the building was not declared safe until an inspection on Saturday morning.

Fire officers say the cause of the blaze was accidental.
