BURGLARS used oxyacetylene cutting equipment to steal 75,000 from a supermarket cash machine.Police say CCTV footage at the Rainbow supermarket in Manning Road, Bourne, shows at least three offenders breaking in through a window at the backat 10pm on Thursday (August 21).
They carried in oxyacetylene cutting equipment and used to melt the hinges off a door in the back of an ATM machine. They then prised off the door and made off with 75,000 in unmarked notes.
DS Jon Shield said: "Our intelligence suggests this was carried out by a cross border gang of organised criminals operating in the East Midlands area and it is one of a series of very similar incidents.
"We are appealing to the public to come forward with information.
"We need anyone who saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area at that time to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
