Change to energy efficient light bulbs.

Use re-usable bags for life instead of plastic bags.

Do not leave electric appliances, such as the television, on standby.

Walk or cycle instead of driving, take the bus or car share.

Recycle your old Evening Telegraph and other papers, and don't throw away rubbish which can be recycled.

Use less water by boiling only the amount needed for tea or coffee.

Compost kitchen and plant waste.

Use local produce or grow your own vegetables, to reduce food miles.

Spend time outdoors instead of sitting in front of the TV – it saves energy.

Don't use an electrical appliance, such as a dishwasher or tumbledryer, for a day.
