Turning shed into classroom
A NEW appeal for volunteers with skills to share has gone out from a Peterborough organisation.
The call comes from the Men’s Shed in Peterborough which is designed so that volunteers can choose the sessions they wish to attend and decide the courses.
The project is supported through the City College Peterborough, and includes training in information technology, wood work, basic computer maintenance, confidence, interpersonal skills, workshop facilitation.
But it will allow those on the project to design other workshops to suit them and their colleagues.
Mick McMurray, development worker for the Men’s Shed, said: “There are still places available on this project, so if you want to get out of the house, but want to choose what you want to attend then contact CP Learning Trust, and get down to the Shed.
“This is a great opportunity to show off your skills whilst offering you the opportunity to get out of the house and to learn new things as well.”
One student, who did not wish to be named, said: ““This is a great way to learn new skills and meet people.”
Anyone interested ishould contact Mr McMurray on 07921 975054.
