A team from Thomas Deacon Academy in Peterborough competed in the final of a competition to have a health app designed by professional developers.

The Astellas Innovation Challenge was hosted on Tuesday, 25 November by Countdown’s Rachel Riley and BBC’s Dr Kevin Fong at the Royal Institution in London.

Thomas Deacon were one of 11 teams invited to present their health app ideas to a panel of expert judges.

The winning app from St Paul’s Catholic College was to store people’s favourite photos and positive memories in one place. The academy’s idea was for a creative exercise and nutrition app.
