Literacy coordinators, Hannah Rizutti and Tracy Fry, said “At Ormiston Meadows we want to ignite our pupils love of literature, providing stimulating activities to show that books are fun.

“At our academy, as with all academies within Ormiston Academies Trust, our vision and aims are to ensure children are given the best life chances possible. The visit from children’s author and illustrator Ellie Sandall has been a fantastic way to launch Book Week”

Ormiston Meadows pupils have an exciting week ahead; to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday March 2, all pupils and staff are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character. Grandparents have also been invited to join classes for story time.

To continue the theme the youngsters will enjoy a special Roald Dhal style lunch. Pupils are also taking part in a whole academy competition to redesign each classrooms’ book corner.
