RESIDENTS have the chance to discover more about their family history at a course being run in the city.
The popular, four-week Family History Basics course, developed by the Local Studies and Archives Service and the Peterborough and District Family History Society, will start on November 3.
It aims to be practical, with opportunities for people to have a go at using internet resources as well as traditional records.
Vivacity’s Local Studies Librarian, Richard Hillier said: “We want these family history sessions to be practical, so that participants go away with all the skills necessary to have a go themselves.
“We are delighted to be able to draw on the help and advice of the Family History Society because they have a much broader range of knowledge.”
The course will run at Peterborough Central Library, in Broadway, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursdays starting from November 3.
It costs £20 per person to cover all four weeks.
