An annual festival which aims to give youngsters in Peterborough an insight into further education kicks off tomorrow (Monday).
The annual Peterborough Arts Festival is back from Monday, January 21, to Thursday, January 24.
Held at Peterborough Regional College (PRC) and University Centre Peterborough (UCP), the festival is an exciting opportunity for youngsters to explore further education.
The variety of events taking place during the week are organised by staff of the performing arts, art and design, and media departments at PRC and UCP, who use industry knowledge and experience to put together a four-day event to inspire and entertain.
The festival includes a range of performances, workshops and lectures for music, dance, drama, art, and design, and media students, which are suitable for Level 2 and 3 students.
This year’s highlights include a visit by Strangeface Theatre performance, a performance to mark Holocaust Memorial Day and 3D photography.
It also includes special talks by Stuart Orme, Vivacity’s Heritage Interpretation Manager, and street photographer Chris Porsz, otherwise known as the ‘paramedic paparazzo’.
Event organiser Nicola Martin said: “The purpose of the Arts Festival is to inspire performers, artists and journalists.
“The event is free to schools and colleges across Peterborough and we hope to continue to run it for many years to come.”
The festival has a variety of free events on offer to college and schools students so get booking quickly as spaces will become limited.
