DOZENS of youngsters had the chance to quiz the mayor on an educational tour of the Town Hall.

Primary school children from the Peterborough School queried the workings of local government during their morning with Councillor Paula Thacker last Thursday.

Ceremonial garb and the history of the Town Hall were just two of the subjects covered, after everyone took a glimpse inside the Mayor’s Parlour.

Cllr Thacker said: “They were a lovely group of youngsters and they all had something to ask me and I answered every question. It’s so important that everybody be aware of these things.”

Other schools who would like to take the tour should email paula.thacker@peterborough.gov.uk.
