Academy staff tackle the Peaks for charity

Teachers and staff from Ormiston Bushfield Academy have raised more than £600 for Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) by completing the Limestone Walk in under 24 hours.

The 46-mile route across the White Peak landscape of the Peak District National Park was taken on by Simon Gray, Tony Cook, Amelie Steinkevich, Sue Proffitt, Claire Rowbottom and Lindsey Wood who all work at the Academy. The team finished in 22 hours in total. The walk is usually completed over three to five days.

Simon Gray, art department and DofE coordinator at Ormiston Bushfield Academy, who took part in the walk, said: “It was a huge achievement and we’re all extremely proud to have done it for such a great cause.”
