There were delays on the Fletton Parkway following a collision between a lorry and a car which left the car trapped between two barried.

The car became jammed at 90 degrees to the carriageway in the roadworks section.

The road was blocked for several hours while a recovery truck was used to pull the car free.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire police said: “We were called at 12.24pm this afternoon (Monday) with reports of a collision on the Fletton Parkway in Peterborough between a grey Vauxhall Zafira and a lorry.

“The vehicles have collided, causing the car to be spun 90 degrees and become wedged between the lorry and two road works barriers.”

The police spokeswoman said it was not thought anyone was injured in the incident.

No police action was taken against either of the drivers involved.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or either vehicles in the moments leading up to it should contact the roads policing unit on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
