Warning to Peterborough residents about cold callers after spate of burglaries in Bretton and Netherton

Police are warning residents in Peterborough to be aware of cold callers following a spate of burglaries in Bretton and Netherton.

The recent burglaries have seen offenders knocking on the door asking for someone who doesn’t live at the address, as a way of finding out if anyone is at home or the house is currently unoccupied.

A police spokesman said: “If this happens to you, please report to police as this could mean a Burglary is about to take place somewhere near where you are living. A description of these people, age, height, clothing is very helpful, so try to jot down anything you can remember as soon as possible.

“Please report all suspicious callers at your door to the police on 101.”
