A man was seriously assaulted at a shop in Clarence Road in Peterborough yesterday, Monday February 29.

Police were called to the clothes shop on the corner of Clarence Road and English Street at 8.45am after a man in his 60s was assaulted by two men.

He received what police described as minor injuries but was taken to hospital.

Two men, who police said were known to the victim, were arrested shortly after 9am in connection with the assault.

A 22-year-old man and a 32-year-old man have both been given bail by police to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on March 21.

Police said the assault was an “isolated incident.”
