Twelve-year-old boy assaulted near Asda in Peterborough

A 12-year-old boy was assaulted in Rivergate by a man who grabbed and pushed him.

The victim was cycling home from school with a friend along the footpath behind Asda in Viersen Platz at about 3.30pm when the offender and his dog passed them.

The boys made comment about the dog which the owner took offence by and became verbally aggressive to them.

He then grabbed the victim by his nose and pushed him backwards before repeatedly kicking his bike.

The offender is described as 5’10”, about 25 years old, muscular with facial hair and short blond hair. He also had a tattoo on his left arm and wore a dark baseball cap.

The dog is described as a white bulldog with a black lead.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

PC Josh Coe said: “This is quite a concerning incident on a young boy which happened in the town centre so I am hoping someone may have seen this and can provide information.”
