Spate of arson attacks in Peterborough over bank holiday weekend

Fire crews tackled three separate arson attacks in Peterborough over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Firstly at 5.57am on Friday, March 25, one crew from Stanground was called to a fire on Wainman Road in Woodston, Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a car on fire. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 7am.

Then at 7.53pm on Friday one crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a fire on Loire Court in Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a brick built shed on fire. They extinguished it using a hose reel and returned to their station by 9pm.

Finally at 3.50am on Saturday, March 26, one crew from Stanground was called to a fire on Lime Tree Avenue in Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a garage on fire which was spreading to nearby bins and bushes. They extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 4.55am.
