Police presence stepped up in Peterborough as voters head to polling stations
With thousands of people set to attend polling stations to vote for city councillors and for a new police and crime commissioner, there has been a large police presence to deter electoral malpractice.
A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire police said; “We increased the presence of police officers across the city today with officers stationed at polling stations and roving patrols across the city.”

Hide AdThe spokeswoman said there had been no calls received by police in connection with the election. A Peterborough City Council spokesman also confirmed they had not been alerted to any concerns surrounding today’s vote.
