Peterborough man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following reports of violence at a home

A man in Peterborough has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Paston.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at about 2.30am this morning with reports of violence at a house in Paynesholm, Paston.

“Officers attended, however the offender had left the location. Searches of the local area were conducted and the suspect was located.

“A 40-year-old man from Peterborough has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

“The victim, a woman in her 30s, suffered minor injuries.

“This is being treated as an isolated incident, however inquiries are ongoing.
