Men injured in Peterborough gang attacks

Two men were injured when they were attacked by a gang of youths in a Peterborough street.

The two separate attacks took place in St Martin’s Street in Millfield, Peterborough on Saturday, March 4.

One man suffered serious, but not life threatening injuries, while the other escaped with minor injuries.

Now police are appealing for help to trace the gang, which is thought to have been made up of up to eight youths of Asian appearance.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “The assaults occurred at about 6.30pm and 6.50pm in St Martin’s Street. One of the victims, a man in his 40s, received serious but not life threatening injuries as a result of the first incident. The victim of the second incident, a man in his 30s, received minor injuries. Both victims were briefly spoken to before the assaults took place.

“The group of between six to eight men were all described as being in their mid to late teens, of Asian appearance and wearing dark clothing. An investigation is ongoing, but no arrests have yet been made.”
