Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man was stabbed and seriously hurt outside a Peterborough pub.

Police were called to the incident at the Bretton Centre, at about 10.30pm yesterday (Saturday, February 28).

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “Following an altercation between three people outside the Fayrespot pub a man was stabbed and seriously hurt.

“Two people then ran in the direction of Sainsbury’s, where an altercation with a group of people occurred.

“The injured man, who is in his 30s and from Peterborough, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“We believe this to be an isolated incident.”
