A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body at a Peterborough home.

The 63-year-old was arrested following the discovery of the woman’s body at a home in Taverners Road, Millfield yesterday.

The woman is believed to have been aged in her 40s.

Police were called by the Ambulance Service just after 6.30pm yesterday (August 7) with reports of a sudden death.

The arrested man is currently in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out later today or early tomorrow.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 6.22pm to an incident on Taverners Road.
“Two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance crew attended.

“There was one patient, a female aged in her 40s.

“Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The crew did not attempt resuscitation.

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s friends and family.”

No information was available about the injuries suffered by the woman.
