Football fans have been arrested following a violent incident in Oundle Road on Saturday during the Millwall v Peterborough United match.

The incident, which involved up to 30 people and saw bottles thrown, happened at about 4.10pm - while the Peterborough United v Millwall match was taking place at the ABAX stadium in near-by London Road.

Two people were hurt in the violence, although their injuries are not thought to be serious.

Although the match was still taking place when the violent incident occurred, a Cambridgeshire police spokesman said it was believed to be football related.

Cambridgeshire police said seven people had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and have been bailed until November.

The arrested people include one from Peterborough, five from London and one from Havering, London.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information, including pictures or videos of the incident, to contact them on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
