Police are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery in Huntingdon on Christmas Eve.

Two men entered the Tesco Express store in Stukeley Meadows, Huntingdon at around 9.15pm.

Holding a knife they demanded cash from the till.

A member of staff handed over £600 cash and the men ran off in the direction of Lake Way.

One man is described as 5ft 10 wearing all dark clothing and a black balaclava. The other is described as 5ft 2 wearing a grey beanie hat, grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hoody with the words ‘Papa Smurf’ written in white on the back.

Detective Constable James Howard, investigating, said: “This was a traumatic event for those who were present in the shop at the time this happened and we would like to hear from anyone with information that may assist us in identifying who was responsible.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 and ask for the Huntingdonshire Serious Crime Team. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
