Police have charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with a robbery at a Peterborough newsagents.

The robbery took place at AA News, in Everdon Way, Westwood, Peterborough, at about noon on Saturday, May 2.

A female member of staff was threatened with a hammer before cash, bottles of vodka, pouches of tobacco and some bars of chocolate were stolen.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been bailed to return to Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on July 15.

A 15-year-old boy remains on police bail until June 24 for involvement in the same incident.
