Arson attack involving flytipped furniture spread to building

An arson attack involving rubbish and household items thought to have been flytipped spread to a building in New England, Peterborough.

Crews from Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called to the building fire in Brassey Close, New England at 4.56pm on Sunday, July 24.

A fire involving items like sofas and chairs had spread to involve a pre-fabricated building which was not in use.

Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish the fire and positive pressure ventilation fans to clear smoke.

The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
