Armed police respond to reports of offender with handgun in residential Peterborough street

Armed response officers were called to Gunthorpe Road at 3.30pm today, Saturday March 25.

One victim has been injured in the incident, but it was not a firearms related injury.

Police have recovered an air weapon and forensic officers have also attended the scene.

Nobody has been arrested but the police say they know the offender is not a resident of Gunthorpe Road or the surrounding streets.

Anyone who saw the incident and has not yet spoken to police are urged to call officers on 101.
