Charity curry evening

A charity dinner hosted by Labour city councillor Ansar Ali raised hundreds of pounds for the Mayor of Peterborough's charities and the British Friends of Islamgarh Welfare Trust.

The packed-out meal was held at the Taj Mahal in Lincoln Road and raised £570.

Cllr Ali said: “I was overwhelmed with the support from my fellow councillors from across the chamber and my friends from our diverse communities for their participation at a fantastic social evening at which we enjoyed delicious food, entertainment and conversation, whilst raising money for charities.

The mayor’s charities are: The Salvation Army Good Neighbours Scheme, Motor Neurone Disease and The Royal Air Force Association.
