With the festive season less than two months away, shoppers can make sure they do not miss anyone off their Christmas card list this year with a visit to St John the Baptist church in Cathedral Square.
The annual Cards For Good Causes sale - which has been running since 1959 - began last week with organisers hoping to top last year’s grand total of £25,000.
Visitors can buy Christmas cards from 41 charities and little gifts such as wrapping paper and children’s toys.
The church is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, until December 16 for people to buy their cards and gifts, and at least 76.2p in every pound spent will go back to charity.
The sale in Peterborough is one of over 300 across the country. Assistant manager Simon Crooke said: “You’re getting good quality cards at a good price and you are helping charities out.”
