Residents are being offered the chance to find a new home which better suits their individual needs.

On Wednesday, May 27, The Hyde Group and five other local housing providers are partnering with House Exchange to offer residents the chance to find a new home which better suits their individual needs.

The Big House Swap Event at Town Hall, Bridge Street, starts at 1.30pm and ends at 4.30pm.

Residents attending the event can get advice on the best way to promote their property, receive help using the House Exchange website, and find out how to swap homes with other housing association or council residents.

House Exchange allows for home swaps between any willing council and housing association tenant who have the right to mutually exchange.

The website automatically matches house-seekers with homes that meet their needs.

Cordeilia Collis, housing options officer at Hyde, said: “We hope that many people will come along to see what choices are available to them.

“In addition to housing experts there will be representatives from a local credit union and the Department for Work and Pensions will be leading workshops providing advice on employment and training.”
